Last Rites/Loved To Deth Your bodies empty now As I hold you Now gone I miss you But I told you I remember bad times More than good There's no coming back Even if we could
I loved you to deth
If I can't have you Than no one will And since I won't I'll have to kill My only love, something I've never felt Now you've gone to heaven And you'll burn in hell
I loved you to deth And now I'm down below And what do I see You didn't go to heaven Your down here with me And now coming back, Baby, take me, please! I really think I would If you weren't such a sleaze I loved you once before You kept me on a string I'd rather go without Than take what you would bring
I loved you to deth, ow! |

The light that fills my lonely cell Is blocked out by the key That locks the door to this hell The place they wanted me Time's racing like the wind Execution's near Oh lord, I wait for death And, yes, I have no fear I recall that night, my every breath And step along the way Closed my eyes, walking As danger paved the way The devil, and the darkness Let her evil wander free Here on Devils Island The final stop for me Devils Island, Devils Island Oh, there's no escape The sea is full of sharks Tide takes you away, and Smash you on the rocks The sun is shining But feel not today It's warmth, it's dying And fading away Devils Island, here I stay, Devils Island Oh, hear the call From the grave beyond Oh, so pernicious Her soul it creates song As there is no man That is here upon the earth Able to terminate our Noisome will since birth The priest that reads the sermon Is walking next to me To the stake my last request To have her burn with me And so it did, the heavens opened Rain began to fall Final judgment came and Was spread before you all
Final judgment Old, weak, and feeble, And the lesson taught to me Stay away from evil, She doesn't care for me She haunts me in my sleep Though I tore that page away Here on Devils Island I'll always have to stay Devils Island, Devils Island Here I am Devils Island, Devils Island |

Well, I am off to Philadelphia. I am going to the Phillies game vs. the Braves.
I will be wearing my Braves hat, my Braves Glavine jersey, and underneath for warmth...my Pittsburgh Penguins long sleeve shirt.
The Pens are playing in Philly tonight also.
If for some reason, I don't make it back...i.e, some rabid Philly fans eat me, you all can have my stuff.
But post here first for what you want, and don't give me this "everything" crap...you only get to request a few items.
Go. |

| Live, from New Jersey... |

Its SATURDAY NIGHT!
Oh wait, nvm.
Anyway, I am in New Jersey right naw. Flew up here on Sunday morning, on a plane that hit a crapload of turbulence. It wasn't very fun at all. Also, I had an old guy staring at my computer watching my bowling movies, since I was going through and takingnotes on them. He was a Yankees fan. Boo on him.
Went to Rutgers to pick up my sister, her dorm is messier than mine EVER was. I know that Scott and Don might not believe that one, but yeah. Its true.
Came back, and spent some time with my grandma and uncle. We went to a little Italian place called Marias for dinner, and then had some Uncle Miltie ice cream, before coming back to watch the Penguins rape the Flyers yet again (suck it philly).
Went to bed late because the room kept me up (its amazing how much old houses creak).
Woke up today at 10:30, went to Dunkin Donuts and then watched the Price is Right. After lunch my uncle and I had our video game marathon:
Nintendo:
Blades of Steel Double Dribble M.U.L.E. City Connection Othello Elevator Action Bubble Bobble Dr. Mario A couple of other weird games Tennis
Sega Genesis:
Streets of Rage 2 Streets of Rage 3
Tomorrow will be baseball game at night in Philly...go Braves!
On a final note, I am really really bored right now. People need to talk to me to keep me unbored!
P.S. I got rick rolled BY PHONE TODAY! That was possibly the worst moment of the day, as my brain practically exploded when it happened. |

I got my fellowship to the Florida Space Grant Consortium, so that means I can do my research next semester and be a GSA hopefully, and hopefully now I can get my lab to teach.
I am really bored, someone entertain me.

| Best Pictures, Best Directors too! |

So we watched the Academy Awards, and they did thist hing on the 80 best picture movies. So I wanted to remember how many I actually have seen.
1927-1928 (1st) Wings 1927-1928 (1st) Sunrise 1928-1929 (2nd) The Broadway Melody 1929-1930 (3rd) All Quiet on the Western Front 1930-1931 (4th) Cimarron 1931-1932 (5th) Grand Hotel 1932-1933 (6th) Cavalcade 1934 (7th) It Happened One Night 1935 (8th) Mutiny on the Bounty 1936 (9th) The Great Ziegfeld 1937 (10th) The Life of Emile Zola 1938 (11th) You Can't Take It with You 1939 (12th) Gone with the Wind 1940 (13th) Rebecca 1941 (14th) How Green Was My Valley 1942 (15th) Mrs. Miniver 1943 (16th) Casablanca 1944 (17th) Going My Way 1945 (18th) The Lost Weekend 1946 (19th) The Best Years of Our Lives 1947 (20th) Gentleman's Agreement 1948 (21st) Hamlet 1949 (22nd) All the King's Men 1950 (23rd) All About Eve 1951 (24th) An American in Paris 1952 (25th) The Greatest Show on Earth 1953 (26th) From Here to Eternity 1954 (27th) On the Waterfront 1955 (28th) Marty 1956 (29th) Around the World in Eighty Days 1957 (30th) The Bridge on the River Kwai 1958 (31st) Gigi 1959 (32nd) Ben-Hur 1960 (33rd) The Apartment 1961 (34th) West Side Story 1962 (35th) Lawrence of Arabia 1963 (36th) Tom Jones 1964 (37th) My Fair Lady 1965 (38th) The Sound of Music 1966 (39th) A Man for All Seasons 1967 (40th) In the Heat of the Night 1968 (41st) Oliver! 1969 (42nd) Midnight Cowboy 1970 (43rd) Patton 1971 (44th) The French Connection 1972 (45th) The Godfather 1973 (46th) The Sting 1974 (47th) The Godfather Part II 1975 (48th) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 1976 (49th) Rocky 1977 (50th) Annie Hall 1978 (51st) The Deer Hunter 1979 (52nd) Kramer vs. Kramer 1980 (53rd) Ordinary People 1981 (54th) Chariots of Fire 1982 (55th) Gandhi 1983 (56th) Terms of Endearment 1984 (57th) Amadeus 1985 (58th) Out of Africa 1986 (59th) Platoon 1987 (60th) The Last Emperor 1988 (61st) Rain Man 1989 (62nd) Driving Miss Daisy 1990 (63rd) Dances with Wolves 1991 (64th) The Silence of the Lambs 1992 (65th) Unforgiven 1993 (66th) Schindler's List 1994 (67th) Forrest Gump 1995 (68th) Braveheart 1996 (69th) The English Patient 1997 (70th) Titanic 1998 (71st) Shakespeare in Love 1999 (72nd) American Beauty 2000 (73rd) Gladiator 2001 (74th) A Beautiful Mind 2002 (75th) Chicago 2003 (76th) The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2004 (77th) Million Dollar Baby 2005 (78th) Crash 2006 (79th) The Departed 2007 (80th) No Country for Old Men
Not too shabby. 52 out of the 80, including all but 2 in the last 37 years.
I also wanted to find out which movies, if any, won Best Director, but did NOT win Best Picture.
Here is a list I can come up with:
2005: Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain), Crash won Best Picture 2002: Roman Polanksi (The Pianist), Chicago won Best Picture 2000: Stephen Soderberg (Traffic), Gladiator won Best Picture 1998: Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan), Shakespeare in Love won Best Picture 1989: Oliver Stone (Born on the Fourth of July), Driving Miss Daisy won Best Picture 1981: Warren Beatty (Reds), Chariots of Fire won Best Picture 1972: Bob Fossy (Cabaret), Godfather won Best Picture 1967: Mike Nichols (The Graduate), In the Heat of th eNight won Best Picture 1956: George Stevens (Giant), Around the World in 80 Days won Best Picture 1952: John Ford (The Quiet Man), The Greatest Show on Earth won Best Picture 1951: George Stevens (A Place in the Sun), An American in Paris won Best Picture 1949: Joseph L. Mankewitz (A Letter to Three Wives), All the King's Men won Best Picture 1948: John Huston (The Treasure of the Sierra Madre), Hamlet won Best Picture 1940: John Ford (The Grapes of Wrath), Rebecca won Best Picture 1937: Leo McCarey (The Awful Truth), The Life of Emile Zola won Best Picture 1936: Frank Capra (Mr. Deeds Goes To Town), The Great Ziegfeld won Best Picture 1935: John Ford (The Informer), Mutiny on the Bounty won Best Picture 1931-1932: Frank Borzage (Bad Girl), Grand Hotel Won Best Picture 1930-1931: Norman Taurog (Skippy), Cimmaron won Best Picture 1928-1929: Frank Lloyd (The Divine Lady), The Broadway Melody won Best Picgture
So out of the 80 movies that won Best Picture, there are twenty cases where another movie won Best Director. In the past 10 years, four films (Saving Private Ryan, Traffic, The Pianist, and Brokeback Mountain) had the best director, but not the best film. Come to think of it, the only one of those four that I have seen is Saving Private Ryan. Traffic I heard was okay, The Pianist I heard was great, but it lost out to Chicago in 2002, and I won't watch BBM.
Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Democrats:
Hillary Clinton 50 percent Barack Obama 36 percent John Edwards 14 percent
Republicans:
John McCain 36 percent Mitt Romney 31 percent Rudy Giuliani 15 percent Mike Huckabee 14 percent Ron Paul 3 percent
So looks like Hillary slaughtered Obama. |

...is Seong Yu (i hope thats right) from North Florida Christian something school.
He won the Algebra I division with a score of 110 (28 correct, 2 wrong), when the next highest score was a 97. Thats pretty impressive.
Whats more impressive...he got fourth place team overall in Algebra I...BY HIMSELF
Thats right.
He got 81 points on team round BY HIMSELF. The max you can get on a team round is 192 (16 points for 12 questions), but thats with 4 people. HE did better than most teams do normally by himself.
And he beat out all schools but 3 with his scores by himself.
The way the total score is done is you add up your team total and the four individual scores of th epeople on your team.
So thats amazing. He got a standing O from the crowd.
In other news, the competition was fun. I got there at 6 am and helped Mike get the chairs ready, then had to proctor Pre-Calculus individual (my kids loved me), then spent the rest of the time in the dispute center accepting and grading kids disputes (i think we had 4 go through out of well over 200). Then, I got dressed up and read out names and awards in front of over 1000 screaming middle/high school students.
"In 20th place, with a score of ___ from ______________ school, _____________"
Said that a million times.
The other funny hting: between Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Statistics and Pre-Calculus, there were a total of 6 scores over 100.
In Calculus, PLACING (20th place) was 97.
There were five 120's (perfect scores).
After that, we decided to go get wings, and then today I came back. |

Dead.
So we went out last night to go get food. Car is dead.
Spent like an hour trying to get it jumped, nothing happened.
So we figured it was the starter, and left it til today. I called the tow truck guy this morning, and he came over and checked it out before towing. He tried to jump it, and actually god it started when he disconnected and just hooked it up to his car! It started well. It turned out I needed new battery clamps to connect to the battery due to corrosion.
So, 200 dollars later and a ride from Sam/Keri to Tire Kingdom, and I'm back on the road.
I have to jump Scotts car though, since apparently either when we jumped it or went out, a light stayed on and his battery died.
Really crazy coincedence. |

Grades time!
Undergraduate:
TSD - A. I knew this one was coming, because I did very well on the midterm (you know, the one with the ridiculously high average because of massive cheating), and Mallory and I kicked ass on our project. Also, being the only person to get the 3rd question on the final right helps too.
HT Lab - A. I got the highest on the midterm, and the labs were all A's. This one was a no brainer.
Senior Design - A. Thank god Choi decided to give us A's. The man who was like "Everyone has a B but the team leader" at the mid point decided to change his mind. Maybe Kenny did reviews, idk. But I wouldn't have been too happy if my only B was in Choi's class. Maybe he forgot to ask about what we did.
Graduate-
Mechatronics - A. Woo! All those projects and nights until 2 am at Olin paid off. I think I only got a C or B on my final, but I needed a 50. I was a little nervous with some of those projects, but I guess they all worked out. That class, although one of the toughest, was probably one of the ones that will help in the future.
So I have 101 undergrad credits at the institution down, and 127 total completed with transfers. That leaves only 7 undergraduate credits to graduate.
Next semester:
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (A.K.A. HVAC) - required for graduation Senior Design 2 - required for grad Fundamentals of Naval Architecture - cuz ships are cool Intro to Computers - anyone say easy A?
Break is going well, and I am lookin forward to XMAS!
Tomorrow I go to Dunbar to go meet with the vice-Principal about the math competiton. John O and I already did the whole trophy order for the Dunbar competition, got a quote at about 2300 dollars for all of the trophies. Pretty good. John O and I are gonna be planning a lot here too, and also going to Paulas to plan/taste cookies/do other stuff after Dunbar.
Fun times, a little boring, but relaxing.

Cue an hour or so later.
I walk into the sub.
